I am VERY excited to continue this story on Radish fiction. This story has been serialized with new chapters once a week!
What I enjoy about the Radish platform is their "Wait-To-Inlock" feature. This means you can pay with coins to read the chapters(which can be earned for free on the app) or wait an hour to unlock the chapter and read it for free. it's a win-win for both myself as a writer and you as a reader! I really wanted to stick with a payment model that would work for my current reader base. Thank you all and I hope you will enjoy reading Lost With You! Story: https://radish.app.link/tGgR35Z25ib Android App Apple App Store After a lot of thought and consideration, I've made the decision to migrate some(if not most) of my stories to Radish, some of them will exclusively be listed there and continue on that platform.
One of the big deciding factors for me is that i feel Radish considers the writers and the readers. The App is free, and many of the stories can be read for free. Paid stories are unlocked with coins, which can be earned on the app even if you don't have cash to spend. It rewards both writers and readers. Radish I also feel is fair with how new releases are handled. When a new story is released it's advertised in the "Newly Released" section and given good exposure without bias even for free titles. I hope my readers understand and will continue to support me on this new platform. I adore you all!! My Radish Link: https://www.radishfiction.com/users/ArabiaJ You are all gold stars. ❤
I have been considering for quite some time now on how to progress with my writing. For the longest time, I've let my fears and uncertainties stifle moving forward. I love writing on Wattpad, and appreciate that the platform gave me a "voice", but I don't want to limit myself to only ever being just a Wattpad author.
I will most likely be moving some of my stories to Radish(if they're okay with that). I still will have stories/releases on Wattpad, but will put more energy into releases on other venues, whether that is on this website, Amazon or Radish. Thank you to all the people who've supported and believed in me. You are all gold stars. I am still working on releasing some of my stories to Amazon. I thought writing a story was the most difficult part, but publishing a story(even self-publishing) scares me.
There's a completely different thought process and set of emotions with writing for free versus writing for profit. I worry over judgement and criticism. I am not a professional writer and I have doubts and concerns over not just my writing style, but the content. It felt good enough for Wattpad, but is it good enough to buy? Will my current readers turn against me for wanting to publish a story for profit? I suppose these are concerns everyone who writes faces. I have to learn how to face my own demons and move forward from them. Thanks for reading and as always, you are a gold star. I just paid for my very first comprehensive edit! I braced myself for the painful criticism and damage to my story . . . but received none! Sure, there was a lot of changes to make, my grammar is TERRIBLE and I never know when to use punctuation or commas. But overall, it was a positive experience!
My editor was very nice and understanding, she tried her best to make suggestions without changing the voice of my story, which I appreciated. She made clear what elements in my story made no sense, and what I could do to fix that. They were all very good points I had not considered before. I have learned that you really, really can't skip the editing process if you want a story that's worth publishing. I might even get another proof-reading. <3 Self-publishing is possible, don't give up! You are all GOLD STARS! Keep on shining. In 2015 I decided that I wanted to write. Writing had been something I really, really enjoyed doing since I was tiny, but I lacked a lot of confidence. I didn't want to show my writings to anyone, because I knew they weren't good. This was a fear I desperately wanted to overcome.
In general, I think we're all a afraid of criticism. We are afraid of exposing ourselves and being ridiculed for the things we lack. My solution to overcome this fear was to start writing on Wattpad. I figured that with each book I wrote my skill would improve. That was the hope, anyway. Wattpad is a really difficult forum to become noticed in, the stories with millions of reads and thousands of votes are usually poorly written and sub-par. The good thing about Wattpad is that it offers a training ground to test out writing skills and strengthen against criticism. I have reached a point now where I feel ready to push my writings beyond just the world of Wattpad and hopefully to the e-book market. It's a really big task and I just have to hope I can survive it. You are all GOLD STARS! Keep on shining! |
