In 2015 I decided that I wanted to write. Writing had been something I really, really enjoyed doing since I was tiny, but I lacked a lot of confidence. I didn't want to show my writings to anyone, because I knew they weren't good. This was a fear I desperately wanted to overcome.
In general, I think we're all a afraid of criticism. We are afraid of exposing ourselves and being ridiculed for the things we lack. My solution to overcome this fear was to start writing on Wattpad. I figured that with each book I wrote my skill would improve. That was the hope, anyway. Wattpad is a really difficult forum to become noticed in, the stories with millions of reads and thousands of votes are usually poorly written and sub-par. The good thing about Wattpad is that it offers a training ground to test out writing skills and strengthen against criticism. I have reached a point now where I feel ready to push my writings beyond just the world of Wattpad and hopefully to the e-book market. It's a really big task and I just have to hope I can survive it. You are all GOLD STARS! Keep on shining!
